*Spoilers ahead*
Since Christmas has been coming up I have been binge watching Christmas shows and movies with my friends. Almost all of them have to do with romance. I came across to this movie called A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding. In this movie the main character Amber has her own blog which reminded me of the blog post I have to do. In the movie Amber is becoming queen of a country and goes through some difficulties. The country is going into turmoil due to money problems. People are losing their jobs and are protesting against her future husband Richard.
You might be wondering why I am talking about a Christmas movie. There are three reasons. One it almost Christmas so it’s relatable. Second, is that the movie has a lot to with Amber who is a blogger and talks about issues. Third, is that I was inspired to write a Christmas post because of post about the Christmas Carol. Throughout the movie she makes blog post about her experience. The movie begins with Amber saying, “It has been 349 days since I said yes to the love of my life, Richard Ben Charlton, the King of Aldovia. Somehow through all this insanity I’m still me…Even though I’m about to become Queen of a small country.” Her first blog post in the movie talks about how she cannot believe she has still stayed herself throughout the year that she has been in the process of becoming queen.
Throughout the rest of the movie she makes multiple blog post. One of the post she writes about the Christmas spirit reaching the palace. This caused a huge controversy with the royal family due to the fact she should not be writing about them to the public. She is then hit with a realization when they delete her blog and tell her she cannot continue to do them as the queen. She then says “I just always thought that my wedding would be about being with the person that I love, I didn’t realize it meant having to give up who I am.”By the end all problems are solved and Amber gets to have her wedding and keep her blog as she helped solve the crisis in the country.
Through making these blog post for class I too feel I am growing as a person… Maybe not finding the love of my life but either way I am learning with every entry I make. I am growing as a person and as a writer all in one. The blog post make me unpack more and look at things more as a writer than just observing it.
